This project is going great! I'm learning a lot of new things and I'm about to meet with my mentor and hopefully will learn so much more on how to survive in the wild!

JAYCE'S REFLECTION

                                                            Moss and Spiders

Last time I posted I talked about finding rivers; but not all places have rivers close by and you can't figure out which way to go. Well think again because there are two different ways to find out where to go to find food water or civilization. If you don't have a compass or can't read one the two ways to find out were your going are Moss and Spiders.  Moss always grows on the north side of a tree.  And spiders is another way to find out where to go because spiders always build their webs facing south.  So now you know how to find north and south without a compass or anything else for that matter.

                                                             Rivers

The first thing you do when your lost is analyze your surroundings.  Look at the ground and see if there is any mud. If there's mud, look to see how much if it goes on for about 50 yards it means your right on a river or it rained. If your right on a river that's great! but, if not follow the mud till it gets thicker and thicker. Or if you can hear the sound of the river you can follow your ears and let them lead you to one. If you find a river or creek that is moving it means that you've hit the jackpot! Water means drinks, food, and civilization!

Hey this is Jayce and this is a blog about how to keep your self alive if you're ever in a situation that you need certain skills and tips to help you survive. Looking forward to this next year of survival tactics and just plain cool stuff.
